Kilmer students and staff celebrate Halloween/Fall Spirit Week next week

Topic: Student Activities

Thank you to our Student Council representatives and teacher moderators for organizing a fun Halloween/Fall-themed spirit week for us next week. All activities were designed to be fun for both remote and in-person students. Sadly, there will be no parade this year, nor will there be classroom parties. There will be some shared opportunities at school for our kids to recognize Halloween one day early.

Costumes will be allowed for both in-person and DLA students on Friday, October 30. Students must arrive at school in costume – there will be no time to change in or out of costume here at school. As always, please do not bring scary/gory masks/costumes, and please leave all props such as bats, sticks, wands, weapons, etc. at home. In-person learners still need to wear their safety masks when in school – a costume mask is not allowed. Students need to continue to follow good hand hygiene. Any costume should allow students to wash hands and use hand sanitizer easily.

In both the DLA and in-person classrooms, we will make it a special day and embed learning activities that are linked to the day such as age-appropriate Halloween stories, writing activities, and math activities. For safety, we will not share any kind of outside items like goodie bags, any kind of treat, or outside classroom crafts.
