Parent Pick Up of Student Materials begins next week

May 11, 2020

Topic: Updates

Below are the details for our Parent Pick-up of student belongings and dropping off of LMC and classroom books and materials:

Curbside Pick-up of Student Items

We will be offering the families the opportunity to pick-up their children’s materials during the following windows:

Saturday, May 16, 10 AM – 2 PM

Monday, May 18, 10 AM – 2 PM

Tuesday, May 19, 10 AM – 2 PM

Wednesday, May 20, 4 PM – 7 PM

Families should drive to school. Walk-up distribution is not available at this time. Please pull through the front parking lot and stop just past the curve like you normally do for student drop-off/pick-up. There will be a stop sign in place. Do not use the half-circle bus drive-way. As you approach the school during these pick-up times, please display a sign in your car window with the following information for EVERY student:

-Student first and last name

-Grade level

-Teacher

If you are picking up for multiple families and/or students, please make sure each student is listed on your sign. For your safety and the safety of our staff, families should NOT get out of their car when they arrive at school.

Staff members will bring student items out to the car and place items directly in the trunk. Our PTO has included a Kilmer candy jar for all departing 5th-grade students. Make sure you check the candy jars before giving them to your kids if you have any allergy concerns in your home. Please place any school library books or classroom library books, textbooks, or other materials that belong to your child’s class into a bag and label the bag with your teacher’s name. Have the bag ready in your trunk so as we place your student belongings into the trunk, we can take out the school books/materials.

All students in K-5 will keep their Chromebooks over the summer. If you are leaving our district, however, you will have to return your Chromebook to our district office at 999 W. Dundee Road in Wheeling as soon as possible after school ends on 6/9/2020.

We will try to make this process as quick and efficient as we can, however, please be patient and flexible as we work through this time together. You may have to wait longer than expected based on the number of families that come at the same time for pick-up.
